OneCity for Recovery Receives $25,000 Grant from Greater Cincinnati Foundation's Boots on the Ground Fund

[Mason, Ohio, June 3, 2024] — OneCity for Recovery, a local non-profit dedicated to combating substance abuse disorder and supporting individuals impacted by addiction, is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $25,000 grant from Greater Cincinnati Foundation's Boots on the Ground Fund.

The Boots on the Ground Fund, established by Greater Cincinnati Foundation, aims to provide critical support to organizations addressing a range of community challenges, such as homelessness prevention, access to healthcare, workforce development, and mental and behavioral health services. This grant underscores OneCity for Recovery's commitment to addressing substance abuse and its ripple effects on individuals and communities.

Since its inception in 2014, OneCity for Recovery has been at the forefront of the fight against substance abuse in Southwest Ohio. Founded by local individuals impacted by substance use disorder, alongside small business owners, executives, community leaders, and clergy, the organization has been instrumental in providing vital support and resources to those in need.

At the heart of OneCity for Recovery's efforts is The HopeLine, a dedicated team of 11 Care Coordinators operating across five counties in Southwest Ohio — Butler County, Hamilton County, Warren County, Clinton County, and Montgomery County. Through The HopeLine, OneCity for Recovery offers a lifeline to individuals struggling with substance use addiction, providing free guidance, resources, and support to help them on their journey to recovery. Their team partners with over 200 community outreach and referral organizations and 170 treatment and recovery service organizations.

"We are immensely grateful to Greater Cincinnati Foundation for their generous support through the Boots on the Ground Fund," said Kristie Hart, Executive Director at OneCity for Recovery. "This grant will enable us to expand our reach and continue our mission of providing hope, healing, and support to individuals and families affected by substance abuse."

With the grant funding, OneCity for Recovery plans to enhance The HopeLine’s outreach efforts and strengthen its partnerships within Hamilton County, Ohio. By bolstering its resources, the organization aims to make a lasting impact in the fight against substance use disorder and contribute to building healthier, more resilient communities.
