OneCity for Recovery Receives $1,000 Mini-Grant from the Ohio Deflection Association

[Mason, Ohio, December 4, 2024] — OneCity for Recovery, Inc. is excited to announce that it has been awarded a $1,000 mini-grant from the Ohio Deflection Association to support its community engagement initiatives through the HopeLine program. This funding will strengthen the HopeLine’s ability to connect with individuals and families across Southwest Ohio, offering free services to those seeking treatment and recovery options for substance use disorder.

The funding will also enable the HopeLine to expand its presence at community events, creating opportunities to provide destigmatizing education about substance use disorder and share vital resources. These efforts are key to fostering stronger relationships with the community and increasing awareness of the HopeLine’s mission to meet individuals where they are and guide them toward recovery.

Since its inception in 2014, OneCity for Recovery has been at the forefront of the fight against substance use disorder in Southwest Ohio. Founded by local individuals impacted by substance use disorder, alongside small business owners, executives, community leaders, and clergy, the organization has been instrumental in providing vital support and resources to those in need.

At the heart of OneCity for Recovery's efforts is The HopeLine, a dedicated team of Care Coordinators operating across five counties in Southwest Ohio — Butler County, Hamilton County, Warren County, Clinton County, and Montgomery County. Through The HopeLine, OneCity for Recovery offers a lifeline to individuals struggling with substance use addiction, providing free guidance, resources, and support to help them on their journey to recovery. Their team partners with over 250 community outreach and referral organizations and 170 treatment and recovery service organizations.

“This funding allows us to engage more meaningfully with the community,” said Kristie Hart, Executive Director at OneCity for Recovery. “We’re not just showing up—we’re creating a presence that educates, reduces stigma, and provides hope to those impacted by substance use disorder.”

The Ohio Deflection Association’s investment reflects a shared commitment to creating pathways to recovery and supporting those affected by substance use disorder.
